Goo Goo for Gaga!

Now I may not love everything this woman says & does. I don’t understand half of it, anyway. And Pop music isn’t  my fave but if you want to see me shake my tail feather, just put a needle on her records. Like it or not, her music  is impossibly, mind-achingly catchy.

I am, however, a fan of her.

I love the fact that she’s true to herself. True to her art. True to her fans.

Whether celebrities signed up for it or not, they are role models. Lots of people young and old are paying attention & patterning themselves after them. Many celebrities seem too self-concerned. Lady G has depth. Maybe a little too much at times!

But she is about love and truth and preaches it.  I say preach on, sister!

Words to live by!

I love to travel. Just love it! No matter where I go, how short or long the journey – it always opens my eyes & mind. It is SO important to step out of your everyday routine. It’s amazing what you’ll learn!

Recently I traveled all along the Southern California coast. I originated from there (Santa Monica was the inspiration for my name – quit snickering, those who know me, I’m a saint in some respects) so it wasn’t a NEW experience and still I walked away with a whole new perspective.

I spent time with friends, family & some obligatory folks as well. Everyone has input and after  sifting through it all I learned more about my method of dealing with life & ways I can improve.

The one takeaway rule from this travel experience was the beauty of differing opinions. Sure, it’s uncomfortable as the conflict arises but the beauty of opposing opinions is that it challenges yours. So you can question whether or not you truly believe what you practice. Analyze what you say & do and your reasoning for doing so! That is how we grow.

Hopefully in the right direction.
